Category Manager

Role Summary
Responsibility for team leadership, product category development and additional product services for customers across all of our markets (Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary) including strong focus on commercial results.



Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

People Management
• Leading team of Product Managers and Category Assistants.
• Develop all team members for professionalism, knowledge growth and protect team stability.
• Build a strong awareness of customer thinking and customer focus within the team.
Category development
• Create strategic mid-term plan for category (brands, channels, markets, and partners).
• Yearly negotiation with suppliers (cost prices for commodities, big deals frame conditions and suppliers attending Sales convention).
• Responsibility for strategic purchasing and budget achievement (supplier's back and program), management of no/slow movers products, new suppliers and product listing validation.
Commercial focus
• Sales & margin motivation, responsibility for service level of non-catalogue products.

Qualifications and skills:

• Proven work experience.
• Hands on experience with MS Office (MS Excel).
• Strategic thinking and attention to detail.
• People management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results.
• English language both speaking and writing is a must, other language as Hungarian or German is an advantage.
• Experience in SAP is an advantage.
